At Mozal, we are proud to produce primary aluminium of the highest purity and international standard, serving industries across Mozambique and
around the world. Our aluminium is delivered mainly in ingot form and is trusted for its quality, reliability, and consistency.
Every day, Mozal produces up to 1,550 tonnes of aluminium, making us one of the most important contributors to Mozambique’s industrial output.
From 2015 to 2024, Mozal accounted for 35% of the country’s total manufacturing production, underlining our role as a true industrial leader.

Our aluminium is used in a wide range of applications, from construction and automotive manufacturing to packaging, renewable energy, and

As one of Mozambique’s largest exporters, Mozal plays a critical role in the national economy — creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs,

Our Downstream Industry
Mozal produces around 580,000 tonnes of primary aluminium per year, the vast majority of which is exported to Europe, supporting advanced industries and contributing to global value chains.
Since February 2013, Mozal has also played a key role in the development of Mozambique’s downstream aluminium industry. That year, we signed an agreement to supply 50,000 tonnes of aluminium annually to Midal, one of the world’s largest aluminium cable manufacturers, which has a presence in Mozambique.
This partnership marked the beginning of Mozal’s participation in the local downstream industry, creating opportunities to add value within the country and support the growth of Mozambican manufacturing.
